COFFEE BREAK

Prototype dimensions - Ćø 450 mm, 450 mm height.

Project made in partnership with the designer Francisco Pitschieller.
the initial idea was to transform a serving tray into a table. With simplicity and object flexibility in mind, it was designed to be light, robust and easy to assemble.
The process is quite simple and it consists of transforming a (2mm thick) plastic sheet (PP) into a cylinder using snap metal buttons. Two handles are cutted into the plastic sheet as well as four slots (optional), to pass through elastic bands that hold magazines and newspapers.
A ā€œUā€ shaped rubber strip is the final touch to the handles and the edges (bottom and upper), in order to cover the rough extremities of the plastic sheet. A circular tray serves as the table top.
